Blizzard City won the Gold Medal at the Chinook Cup Tournament in Lethbridge. They did that by winning their first 3 games convincingly to qualify for the Gold Medal game. They had to win games against teams from Ferney, Medicine Hat and Kootenay to make it. In the final game, they faced a Calgary team, West Hills United Inter, which was able to jump to a 3-0 lead in the first half. However, the never-say-die City players fought back in the second half to tie the game 3-3 and send it to a penalty shoot-out for the Gold medal. Our goalie saved two penalties, and we scored our 4 shots to win the Shoot Out by 4-1.
