Blizzard Bears U14 Girls proudly represented our soccer club at the Tier IV Provincials in Edmonton March 19/20 and brought home a Bronze Medal. Most of our girls were excited to share this experience for the very first time ever

After finishing first place for Gold in Calgary in the U14G 3AA division the Bears traveled to Edmonton for their Provincial quest. Winning our first two games 6-1 and 4-2 and barely missing a berth into the Gold/Sliver game losing to Lessard Panthers in a 4-3 hard fought game. The girls hit the crossbar and goal edges so many times there were dents left behind.

Our Bronze medal game had an exciting finish as Adie scored with 26.8 seconds left to tie the game and force a shootout. An awesome and timely stop by Cayla coupled with goals by Kelsey, Jenelle and Andrea sealed the win for the Bears.

Returning to Calgary we had one more challenge to face on Wednesday the 23^rd to wrap up our very exciting season and that was to win Gold and a trophy from the CMSA Challenge Cup. With just 19 seconds left on the clock and a 2-2 tie, Liz took control of the ball and with a fantastic shielding move and a shot to the top corner sealed the victory.

Darrell, myself and all the parents are very proud of the efforts these girls put forward, especially when we lost Sarah to a broken leg and Jenna to a back/hip problem. We desperately missed them in the Provincials and I look forward to having them back soon. On the bright side we were pleased to have Jennifer Reynolds travel with us and she played exceptionally well. If you are a coach in U14 G for outdoors you will want to watch for Jennifer at the tryouts.
