Marketing & Social Media Coordinator (Part-Time)

Reports to: Executive Director
Works closely with: Operations Lead
Compensation: Dependent on experience
Hours: Part-time (flexible, with some evenings/weekends as needed)

Role Overview

The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining the CBSC / Blizzard brand through strategic marketing, digital communications, and creative content. This role focuses on storytelling, online presence, and visual identity across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Marketing & Communications Strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director and external consultants as required
  • Actively promote the Blizzard brand through:
    • Website content management and updates
    • Social media planning, posting, and engagement
    • Digital campaigns, videos, and direct marketing initiatives
  • Ensure all marketing and communication materials are accurate, current, and distributed in a timely manner to key stakeholders
  • Support networking initiatives to enhance club profile and brand awareness

Content Creation & Digital Media

  • Create engaging written, visual, and video content for social media, website, and marketing campaigns
  • Manage social media calendars and analytics to track performance and optimize engagement
  • Coordinate photography and videography needs (including collaboration with external contractors when required)

Graphic & Web Design

  • Design and coordinate printed and digital materials including:
    • Flyers, posters, banners, signage, and promotional assets
  • Support brand consistency across all platforms and materials
  • Assist with basic web and graphic design updates as needed

Fan Apparel & Merchandising (Marketing Support)

  • Support brand development and design initiatives related to fan apparel
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for branded merchandise
  • Assist with the promotion and maintenance of the online CBSC Store

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in marketing, communications, social media, or digital content creation
  • Experience in WordPress is essential
  • Strong writing, design, and visual storytelling skills
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content scheduling tools
  • Experience with graphic design and web tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, CMS platforms) is an asset
  • Highly organized, creative, and able to manage multiple projects

Events & Community Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)

Hours: Part-time (evenings/weekends required, seasonal peaks)

Role Overview

The Events & Community Outreach Coordinator leads the planning, coordination, and execution of CBSC community initiatives, special events, and APL game day operations. This role is hands-on and event-focused, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Special Events

  • Develop and maintain a Community Outreach & Special Events Strategy in consultation with leadership and subject matter experts
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute club events including but not limited to:
    • Blizzard Day
    • Open Houses & Walk-In Registrations
    • Alumni Engagement Events
    • 3v3 Christmas Tournaments
    • Coaching & Volunteer Appreciation Events
    • Blizzard Gear Swap
    • Access & Inclusion Program events
    • Community, charitable, and corporate sponsorship events
    • Gifting, recognition, and volunteerism initiatives

APL Game Day Management & Operations

  • Lead the preparation and execution of APL game days, including:
    • Coordination with AGLC for liquor licensing
    • Field permits and facility bookings
    • Event entertainment (DJ, anthem singer, face painter, etc.)
    • Equipment rentals, setup, teardown, and returns
    • Security guard coordination
    • Volunteer coordination for game day operations
    • Liaison with referees and Alberta Soccer for logistics
  • Coordinate food trucks, fan engagement activities, and on-site experiences
  • Support ticket sales strategy, execution, and maintenance
  • Manage fan apparel sales during game days

Operational & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event-related stakeholders
  • Ensure events are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with club values
  • Maintain accurate records, permits, and post-event reporting

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in event planning, community engagement, or operations
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills
  • Comfortable managing volunteers and multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
