The Orange Way

Calgary Blizzard SC is Calgary's longest-serving soccer club, developing players and building community since 1967. We offer youth and adult soccer programs across Northwest Calgary for players aged 4 to adult – from our grassroots Roots program for our youngest players, through competitive Core and Reach programming, to our elite Alberta Player Development League teams. Whether your child is taking their first kick or chasing a professional pathway, there's a place for everyone at Blizzard.

Our Story

It all began in 1967, when Marino Sedran and Gordon Hawkins took a team of 11 and 12-year-old Calgary boys to Expo 67 in Montreal. Upon their return, they adopted the name of a defunct Canadian Junior Football team – the "North Hill Blizzards" – and remodelled the squad around six of the original players. Competing against Northwest Calgary teams, that early Blizzard side went on to win three National Championships, claiming the title in 1971.

More than fifty years later, that same spirit drives everything we do. From a single team of curious kids to one of Canada's most credentialed clubs, Blizzard has always been about development, dedication, and belief – the foundation of what we call The Orange Way.
