The Alberta Player Development League (APDL) at Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club is a premier, performance-focused program designed to offer the highest level of training and competition for aspiring soccer players. Fully aligned with Canada Soccer’s Player Development Program (PDP), the APDL aims to provide a structured and high-performance environment that supports the growth of players, coaches, officials, and administrators.
At Calgary Blizzard, we are committed to delivering the best possible program for our players. Our APDL teams follow a periodized training model, which includes approved technical plans, licensed coaches, strength and conditioning, mental performance training, nutrition guidance, and video analysis. This comprehensive approach ensures that each player develops in all areas of their game, both technically and mentally.
The APDL is governed by the Alberta Soccer Association and is designed to create the best training and competition environments for players. Clubs like Calgary Blizzard, which meet the rigorous standards of the National Youth Club License, are eligible to participate in the league. This guarantees a consistently high level of play and a pathway for players to progress to higher levels of competition.
The league is regularly scouted by Canada Soccer’s Regional Excel Directors and U15/U17 National Team Head Coaches, offering our players valuable exposure and opportunities to be identified for further development at the national level.
Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club (CBSC) is excited to announce our Canada Soccer Youth License was officially announced June 2023 showing our commitment of high standards within Youth Soccer. Our intake for the 2012 born athletes will begin in August 2025.
