The Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club, the City’s oldest youth club committed to providing high caliber programs and services, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated member to join their team in the role of Foundation Phase Technical Director. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a proven youth development environment to assist our current staff and coaches in raising the level of programming and training at CBSC.
About the Role
Our club is focused on raising the standard of coaching and player performance within the younger age groups of CBSC. As such, our club is seeking a candidate that brings advanced coaching accreditation and extensive experience in youth development in a national or acclaimed club program. We are looking for a coach with the ability to infuse best practices, enthusiasm and a love of the game for our Foundation Phase program. The Foundations Lead will report directly to the Sporting Director and partner with the Operations Manager. They will be responsible for program planning, support for all coaches including non-certificated training, and will also play a pivotal role in evaluating players for placement on theclub’s younger competitive teams.
CSA B National or an equivalent coach certification. The successful candidate will be expected to complete any future CSA coach certification aimed at this age group.
You will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with aspiring soccer players, predominantly under 10 years of age. You are well informed and educated on managing coach and player development programs consistent with the principles of Long Term Player Development and can create a culture for learning. You are a people person that works well in a team orientated environment, you can delegate and motivate others. As a leader, you are professional, respectful, resourceful, organized and a good communicator. You have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
