Congratulations to Sam Gagne and Lauren Houghton, two ex-Blizzard players in their first year of U of C playing for the Dinos’ men’s and women’s teams. Both were starters for the Dinos and both made the Canada West All-Star Rookie team, a fantastic achievement for both players.
Sam, a defender, played for the Blizzard Villa team throughout his Blizzard career and also represented Alberta this summer at the Canada Summer Games.
Lauren played for the Blizzard Ajax as their goalkeeper helping take the team to Provincial Finals and Nationals.
Both players believe in giving back to their club and help coach younger teams. Sam and Lauren are both coaching under 12 teams for the club this year and Lauren will also be helping our aspiring goalkeepers in our goalkeeper technical sessions.
We are delighted at their achievements and so very proud of these two fine young students, they epitomise the Blizzard Family spirit.
